The Athlone Croí na hÉireann festival group hosted an awards night last Tuesday, May 2 where WRGC won an award for best new entrant. The award was received by Sofiia Chalbash, international gymnast; Enya Tierney, head coach; and James Walsh, club DLP and Safeguarding Officer.
The event was hosted at the Sheraton Hotel in Athlone, and WRGC gymnast Sofiia Chalbash performed a free routine to close the event to "Bodhran" by the Young Dubliners, composed for the occasion. Sofiia chose to perform Irish music to honor the festival and Irish culture.
"Thank you to Croí Na hÉireann for the amazing award show and for recognizing our club as the best new entrant. We thoroughly enjoyed the show and appreciate the opportunity to celebrate the diversity and talent in Athlone." said James.
